Health Tip #1: Drink your water!

Sounds super cliché? We grew up hearing it all the time over and over from our mothers, from our grandparents, from our teachers, and of course, from our doctors. Yet, oftentimes, we still manage to forget the importance of drinking enough water. You’re probably thinking, what is “enough”? It is recommended to drink at least half your weight (lbs) in ounces! For example, for a woman who weighs 120lbs, she should drink at least 60oz of water per day. Of course, if you are an athlete or is someone who sweats a lot, you should drink even more. Water is so essential for our body to function optimally and for the proper circulation of the nutrients. It not only helps flush out the toxins in our body, but it hydrates all your cells, prevents headaches and dizziness, promotes healthy weight management, promotes smooth and clear skin, boosts immune system, and brings out that natural glow in your skin!

If it’s difficult to remind yourself to drink, here are a few tips and tricks:

– keep a water bottle with you everywhere you go

– drink 2 cups of water with each meal and 1 cup of water with each snack

– set an alarm every hour to take a sip out of your water bottle

– drink a glass of water after every bathroom break

– add flavor to your water (eg. Electrolytes)

Don’t wait to drink until you feel thirsty – that is your body telling you that you’re already so dehydrated!

Also, if you are drinking RO (reverse osmosis) water, add in some electrolytes! RO water filters out all the minerals that may be beneficial for your health.
